Finance & AccountingBooks that write themselves — and always balance.

Every order, purchase, payment, and payout posts complete double-entry journal lines the moment it happens. Statements stop being a monthly project.

What is Finance in Kayan?

Kayan's finance module is a double-entry general ledger that the rest of the platform writes to automatically: every sale, purchase, payment, refund, stock movement and pay run posts a balanced journal entry with COGS, VAT and gateway fees in the right accounts. It produces AR/AP aging, VAT-aware invoices and bills, and always-current P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements in your base currency, with multi-currency when you need it.

Double-entry, generated

Kayan posts the journal for you: sales, COGS, fees, refunds, transfers, payroll — each one a balanced, reversible entry with a full audit trail.

  • Chart of accounts you control, defaults that make sense
  • Automatic COGS and inventory valuation postings
  • Reversals and corrections that never orphan history

AR/AP and real documents

Invoices, bills, credit notes, and payments — VAT-aware, in your base currency, multi-currency when you need it — matched and aged automatically.

  • AR/AP aging out of the box
  • Withholding tax and VAT on B2B documents
  • Payment methods with their own clearing and fee accounts

Statements as a view, not a project

P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow are live views over the ledger. Month-end becomes review, not reconstruction.

  • Always-current P&L, balance sheet, cash flow
  • Drill from any line to the entries behind it
  • Multi-entity consolidation on higher plans

Common questions

Do I need accounting knowledge to use Kayan?

No. Kayan writes correct double-entry records as you operate. If you have an accountant, they get clean books; if you don't, you still do.

Does it handle Egyptian VAT?

Yes — VAT-aware documents and postings, including withholding tax on B2B sales.

Can I import my existing chart of accounts?

Kayan starts you with a sensible chart of accounts you can rename, extend, and re-map — including per-payment-method clearing and fee accounts.

What about multi-currency?

Buy or sell in other currencies and Kayan carries FX into the books; reporting stays in your base currency.
